| About Afghans Etc. For Charity |

| Our group was started January 11, 2004, after the owner, Roger was involved in another charity project. After some coaching from his fellow crochet buddies, Afghans Etc. For Charity was born. The goal of our group is to brighten the lives of children with cancer, and to put smiles on their little faces. All in all we are here to help all children, spreading happiness and touching their lives if only for a moment. After all it's about the children. Roger, owner and founder of Afghans Etc. and has been crocheting for over 30 years. His mother was a major influence in his learning to crochet. Although his first attempt to learn failed but he was determined. So he later went out and bought a book, "Teach Yourself To Crochet", and taught himself to crochet. Roger can make anything crocheted from a pattern and has on occasion made his own patterns. So with the help and support of his friends and peers he continues to crochet and run his Yahoo group and helps manage this website. Here at Afghans Etc all the crocheted items are made and donated to various organizations. Some of which include the Victory Junction Gang Camp in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The Dorothy Day House in Memphis, Tennessee. Roger is always looking for and adding to his growing list of charities. If there is a child in need Roger will be there with hook in hand and yarn by his side crocheting for the children. So if this sounds like something you would like to do and be a part of we will love to have you. Young and old, male and female, all are welcome. So get you're yarn and grab your hook, and let's get to crocheting for the children. " Touching Lives One Child At A Time" Roger Orman Owner & Founder |
